Overview:
A check valve is a type of valve whose opening and closing element is a circular disc. It operates by relying on its own weight and the pressure of the medium to prevent the reverse flow of the medium. It belongs to the category of automatic valves and is also known as an anti-reflux valve, a one-way valve, a return valve, or a isolation valve.
Working principle:
The working principle of a check valve is based on the pressure difference principle in fluid mechanics. When the medium flows in the forward direction, the medium pressure pushes the valve disc to open, allowing the medium to pass through the valve smoothly; when the medium stops flowing or there is a tendency for reverse flow, the valve disc, under the action of its own gravity and the reverse pressure of the medium, closes to prevent the medium from flowing back.
