Overview: 

The butterfly valve is also known as the flap valve. It is a simple type of regulating valve and can be used for the on-off control of medium in low-pressure pipelines. The butterfly valve refers to a type of valve where the closing element (valve disc or butterfly plate) is a round plate that rotates around the valve axis to achieve opening and closing. 

Valves can be used to control the flow of various types of fluids such as air, water, steam, various corrosive media, mud, oil, liquid metals and radioactive media. They mainly play the roles of cutting off and throttling in pipelines. The butterfly valve's closing and opening element is a disc-shaped butterfly plate, which rotates within the valve body around its own axis to achieve the purpose of opening, closing or regulating.
